RV — recreational vehicle — is the umbrella term for anything you can live in on the road, from caravans to motorhomes. A motorhome is a self-contained RV built on a van or truck chassis, so you drive it rather than tow it. A campervan is the compact end of the range: van-sized, easier to park, usually with a simpler layout.
Like any vehicle, a motorhome depreciates fastest in its first few years, and a pre-owned one has already absorbed that. Buying used also widens your choice of layouts and brands — our used stock currently runs from $89,990 to $249,990 across 10 makes.
Look past the odometer. Ask for the service history of both the base vehicle and the living area, and check for water ingress — soft walls, stains or a musty smell around windows, vents and roof hatches. Test every appliance, from the fridge and hot water to the heater and toilet, and check the age of the tyres, not just the tread, along with the house batteries and any solar.
A licensed dealer gives you protections a private sale doesn’t. Most used motorhomes we own come with a 3-month statutory warranty, every vehicle is inspected before resale, and we can arrange finance and transport. A private seller offers no statutory warranty, so anything that goes wrong after handover is yours to fix.
At our two dealerships: Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, Queensland, and Lynbrook in Melbourne’s south-east, Victoria. Every listing shows which yard holds the vehicle. Browse used motorhomes in Queensland or used motorhomes in Victoria, or call the dealership holding the vehicle to arrange an inspection.

It depends on who owns the vehicle. Most used motorhomes owned by Elite RV — traded in or bought by us — come with a 3-month statutory warranty. Vehicles we sell on consignment carry no statutory warranty, but any remaining original warranty still applies.
