Privacy policy
This policy explains how Elite RV Pty Ltd (“Elite RV”, “we”, “us”) handles the personal information we collect through this website, auto-trail.com.au: through its forms, through its phone numbers and as you browse. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you send a form
Your name, email address and phone number, and what you tell us: your nearest showroom, the motorhome you’re interested in, what you need help with and your message. If you’re selling a motorhome, we also ask for its make, model, year and kilometres.
Each form also sends us the page you sent it from, the date and time, your device’s IP address and, if you came from an ad, the ad’s click and campaign codes (such as Google’s gclid and UTM tags).
When you call us
The phone numbers on the site are tracked. Our call tracking provider records the number you call from, when you called, and the page or ad that showed you our number.
As you browse
Cookies and similar tools record the pages you view, how you reached the site, your device and browser, and your approximate location, worked out from your IP address. See cookies and tracking below.
The website doesn’t ask for sensitive information, such as health details, or for payment or licence details. You can browse without telling us who you are, and you’re welcome to call or visit instead of using a form. We just can’t reply to an enquiry without a way to contact you.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, and follow it up by phone, email or text message.
- To arrange viewings, valuations, purchases and service bookings.
- After you buy from us or have your motorhome serviced, to invite you to review us.
- To see how the website is used, and to improve it.
- To measure which ads lead to calls and enquiries, and to show our ads to people who have visited the site.
- To keep the forms free of spam and abuse.
We don’t sell personal information, and we won’t add you to a newsletter.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is emailed to the sales team at the showroom that looks after your state. To do that, and to run the website, we use these service providers:
- Podium, the messaging platform our team uses to reply to enquiries and send review invitations.
- Twilio SendGrid, which delivers the website’s emails, and Google Workspace, which hosts our email.
- Our web developer, who receives a copy of each enquiry to check the forms are working, and our website host, whose server keeps a log of the emails the site sends.
- Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager, Maps, YouTube and Fonts), Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and JET, our call tracking provider. They’re described under cookies and tracking.
We may also disclose personal information when the law requires or allows it.
Outside Australia
Some of these providers store or process information overseas, mainly in the United States. Podium, Twilio SendGrid, Google and Meta are among them.
Cookies and tracking
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. This site uses:
- Google Analytics, to count visits and see which pages people use. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out add-on.
- Google Ads, to see which ads lead to visits, calls and enquiries, and to show our ads to past visitors. When you send a form, your email address and phone number may be passed to Google in a scrambled (hashed) form, to match your enquiry to an ad you clicked. You can manage the ads Google shows you in My Ad Center.
- The Meta Pixel, which tells Meta the pages you view, so we can measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show them to past visitors. You can manage these in your Facebook ad preferences.
- JET call tracking, which shows you a tracked phone number, so we can tell which page or ad led to a call.
- Google Maps and YouTube. The contact page shows Google Maps and some pages play YouTube videos. Google may set its own cookies when they load.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the site’s typefaces and so receives your device’s IP address.
After you send a form, your browser also holds your first name and enquiry type for a moment, to show the thank-you page, then deletes them.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings, and the site still works without them.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Enquiries reach our team by email, and the website keeps a log of the emails it sends so that one that goes astray can be resent. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Email sales@eliterv.com.au or call either showroom, and we’ll reply within 30 days. To stop our text messages, you can also reply STOP to any of them.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information, email us with the details and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
